Clowning Around…

May 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

…is one of my favourite Bank Holiday weekend activities. Sadly, it is almost all over and as one last hoorah, there’s this T-shirt from the Urban Outfitters online sale to help us along until the next Bank Holiday. I love the illustration even if I’d prefer the illustration to cheer us all up rather than make us pensive.

I can imagine wearing this with a high waisted skirt, under a fun jacket with simple jeans or perhaps with leggings and bright shoes.

If I was S, no doubt I would crack out the jeggings for this T but I’ll let her explain those to you in more detail another time (spoiler alert: leggings that look like jeans = genius).

Anthropologie London Store

January 13, 2009 · 3 Comments

Following on from S post about Primark, I have been thinking about what makes us buy from certain shops and not others. First, and foremost for the vast majority of us, price is the key factor. This is where Primark, and similar chains, are clear winners. But I have never enjoyed the rough and tumble associated with getting a real bargain, so I undoubtedly miss out, but I do prefer shops with an atmosphere.

Anthropologie, the US chain owned by Urban Outfitters, is one such store; they will be opening their first London store this summer, and I look forward to shopping there despite already being able to buy items online.

The chain intentionally avoids advertising and spend extra money furnishing their stores.  Ignoring any potential credit crunch problems with their expansion plan, Anthropologie will be a welcome addition to the London fashion scene – I always spot lovely pieces from Anthropologie  within the ensembles of fellow American bloggers and feel a little envious.

These pieces will be perfect for making an impact in spring print & colour:
