I’ve had two accusations of looking Swedish so far since dying my hair. This is a SLUR on my heritage. I have no personal beef with the Swedes but I think you’ll find I look Finnish. It’s the massive round head that gives it away and the lack of cheekbones like ice picks. Finland has its fair share of fox-faced willowy types but the rest of us have what my friend Emilia calls “round, friendly features”.
Actually, I love Swedish fashion (Acne t-shirts need to beware of me when I get paid next month) but today I am approximating the effect of being in Stockholm with the help of Marimekko and See by Chloe:

p.s. Can you tell I have just worked out how to take a half-decent photo with my new camera? Iwill try not to post too many zillions.

Here’s a mini-homage to my latest favourite Spring Shoes. This homage may seem ridiculous to some, especially anyone in London who is experiencing rain & snow, but I’m a shoe optimist.
These sandals are a striking colour, wonderful detailing and have that look about them that says “I probably won’t rub your feet raw the first time you wear me”. These all count as good qualities in my book.

I actually think the workplace is a fun place to dress for, as long as the rules aren’t too strict. Sometimes having some constrictions makes it easier to be creative. However, this does not mean I am not rubbish at it. See by Chloe has designed some things to inspire me. Maybe you think I’m bonkers, but the one great thing about being a woman at work is flexibility in the clothes department so I might as well use it.

Jumpers by paperflame
The very cold weather is presenting me with dressing issues. The first one is that when it is cold and dark first thing in the morning, I find it quite hard to motivate myself into anything less than ultimately cosy and comfortable. Luckily I’m not a tracksuit sort of girl so although we may veer into “practical territory” I think I can still not regard myself with disgust when I finally wake up at about 10am and at work.
I embraced skinny jeans with fervour when they came in because I love the skinny legs and voluminous top look, and I think it suits me. I have seen girls look brilliant in flares and bootlegs but I am not fond of them on me and never was. Ultimately I would like to just wear leggings and a big cashmere jumper and refine the whole look into almost nothingness.
The problem with jumpers is that they become the whole outfit. Therefore the jumper itself should be something to look at. I like these jumpers (both Topshop, shown with Topshop jeans) and this cardigan (See by Chloe) because they add a little something and yet look like something I would gravitate towards in a sleepy haze on frosty mornings.
