I have decided which bags I am going to fruitlessly desire all of this year and I’m going very simple after last year’s Ymail “address” bags, for which my heart still whimpers once in a while.
Instead, I am looking at bags which, on the deeply theoretical day when I buy them, I could then use every single day of the following three to fifteen years so it would receive as much love as it really deserves. A beautifully designed and executed leather bag that doesn’t stand and say “hullo! I am expensive.”
I’ve had my eye on various versions of this Marc by Marc Jacobs bag for almost a year and I love this new paler blue colour. I was planning to buy the dark blue when it went on sale but when I got to the shop (I was planning to buy it at Heathrow duty-free) it was sold out. Sad face. The Miu Miu bags are the perfect non-brown designs and look solid enough to deal with being my bag. I would probably buy the blue but I also love the pistachio, even though I hate pistachios.

Now that I have a job I can once again start my favourite hobby of daydreaming about stuff I want to buy. Ranging from the expensive dreambuy, through to the little treats, this is my list.
£££
- Ferragamo Varina flat pumps (£225!)
- A brown leather Miu Miu bag. Even if I could afford this ever, they don’t seem to have any pleasing dark brown leather ones at the moment.
- New GHDs.
££
- Lancome Adaptive foundation.
- Clinique facewash.
- Shu Uemura eyelash curlers.
- A haircut that will make me look exactly like last season’s Balmain catwalk models.
£
- Organic semi-skimmed milk. The drink of the gods.

I’d never thought I’d say this but I just love this. Who would have thought of Katie Holmes as Miu Miu’s cover girl for SS 09?
They always shoot quirky, edgy ads with the likes of Kirsten Dunst, Maggie Gyllenhaal and White Stripes Meg featured in the past. And I think Miu Miu have done it again – she looks fantastic and the colour palette is just what I love – all orange & gold.

The venerable Style Bubble has given the rest of us an early present by mapping all her favourite shops in London on this wonderful map. I intend to sift through it and let you all the results. If anyone has any comments on ones they have already visited then do let us know.
Oh, and check out her lovely new Miu Miu heels. Oh yes. They are brilliant. A

Or “Ae Fonde Dreame”. Guys, there is a severely amazing sale over at Net-a-Porter, which is great for those with some spending money because just look at this selection of now-discounted to a reasonable price zone stuff:
Funny T-shirts

Sonia Rykiel £51.38

Luella, £44.80
Bags of great awesomeness

Marc Jacobs, £126.70

Miu Miu, £364.20
But wait! Let’s hope Net-a-Porter isn’t going to become part of my new favourite game “Which well-known high street chain will bite the dust next”. All this sale-watching is fun but I can’t wait for the new trends to start seeping through. I think in line with recession economics and Luella’s S/S 09 look, we should all wear neon pink frilled minis next year. Or else just bag a t-shirt – last year’s Luella fox print t-shirt is one of my most-worn items.

I have blimmin’ had it with the lameness of my wardrobe at the moment. I am particularly in dire need of some shoes. In order to help plan my shopping efforts, slightly on hold until I have a job again, here are some great shoes that you could run around town in.
These blue Ferragamo flats look really beautiful in real life – they are solid, glossy and super-comfortable.

I am still not in possession of some good ankle boots and these three would all hit the spot in different ways. The patchwork ones have a pleasingly Chloe-esque style and colour-way. The bow-side ones are perfect and would go with everything. I’ve suddenly realised a decent pair of black boots would help pull everything together and that maybe having bought only mad-coloured shoes for my entire life wasn’t the best move. I’ve only realised this now I have no money to buy new ones and have places to go other than work!
