Sorry for the late instalment this week. Better belated than never, we present V’s latest style crush: Freida Pinto.

Wow.
That’s pretty much all I can say about this photo shoot by Richard Bernardin of Freida Pinto from the November edition of BlackBook magazine. Styled in homage to Bianca Jagger, channeling a blur of 50s, 60s and 70s fashions, the Mumbai-born actress of Slumdog fame looks nothing short of exquisite.
I love how the make-up artist opted for the timeless loosened curls, smoky eyes and red lips that scream Hollywood glamour. Due to Freida’s natural beauty, I’m pretty certain that the shoot would work just as well without the strongly defined make-up, but you can’t argue that the dark eyes and full glossy lips add heat and drama to what is a fairly simple concept.
I repeat. Wow.

She looks wonderful and as an Asian woman, it is refreshing that she hasn’t been styled in a cliched Bollywood, ‘exotic’ or ‘ethnic’ way.
I love the 70s sepia/Chloe feel too, it makes everything more elegant and makes me want to wear camel coloured trousers with burnt orange jumpers.
